Building the church on grace and truth

What we mean by the fivefold ministry

Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). Each of these ministries has its own task and responsibility, and they complement one another in building up the body of Christ. We want to serve and strengthen churches and work together with local churches.

Core values

Eight values, one foundation

Grace

Grace is receiving what we have not earned. Not through our own efforts or good works, but through what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. By grace we are saved, justified and adopted as children of God. From that same grace we are able to live, grow and serve.

Biblical truth

The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, through whom all things were created. God’s Word is the foundation of our faith, thinking and actions. We test our convictions against His Word, not the other way around.

Identity and humility

We live and serve from our identity as beloved children of God. Humility is not weakness, but recognizing who God is, who we are in Christ, and that everything we have comes from His grace.

Fivefold ministry

Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to His church to equip believers for works of ministry. Each has their own task and responsibility, and together they serve the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).

Power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our Helper and Comforter. He lives in us, guides us into the truth, gives us power to live and to serve, and is the guarantee of our inheritance in Christ. Through His power, healing, deliverance, signs and wonders also become visible.

Unity

As believers we are together one body in Christ. We strive for unity in the Spirit, rooted in love and biblical truth. Despite differences in background and conviction, we want to build, encourage and strengthen one another, not divide.

Equipping and teaching

Through teaching and discipleship we help believers discover their identity in Christ, renew their minds and grow in their relationship with God. In this way they are equipped to fulfil their calling from God’s Word and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Kingdom in practice

The Kingdom of God does not consist of words alone, but also of power that people can experience. Jesus calls us to proclaim the Gospel, heal the sick and set people free, out of His love and authority.
